Dairy Alliance partnership brings cold brew coffee to Magee and Mendenhall
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, students and staff at Mendenhall and Magee High Schools participated in a taste test of Moo Brew Coffee—a cold brew program supported by The Dairy Alliance. The event gave students a chance to sample the new beverage ahead of its official launch in the cafeterias at Magee and Mendenhall High Schools.
The taste testing was part of a broader partnership between SCSD and The Dairy Alliance, a nonprofit organization that promotes dairy as a vital part of healthy living. Through a board-approved grant, the district received over $3,500 per high school to fund equipment, technical support, and professional development for launching the Moo Brew program.
Jana Miller, a representative from The Dairy Alliance, facilitated the event at both campuses.
“Each serving of Moo Brew provides an 8-ounce serving of milk and 8 grams of high-quality protein,” Miller explained. “It’s a great way for students to get their coffee and their nutrition to start the day off right.”
Students were eager to share their feedback.“I think it will be a great addition to our menu...I think we need the energy because it is tiring being a full-time student,” said Mendenhall sophomore Nathaniel Little.
The Moo Brew program is part of The Dairy Alliance’s effort to engage students and school nutrition programs in the importance of dairy consumption. The cold brew is made with 1% milk and sugar-free flavored syrups to offer students a balanced, nutritious option.
Simpson County School District plans to officially launch Moo Brew Coffee at both Magee and Mendenhall High Schools on Tuesday, September 17, 2025.
